If Everyday Were Sunday...

I would be very happy. But I would not get much sleep.

What Erika is...

I found this cool idea on somebody else's blog awhile ago. It is a series on the things I'm doing, entitled "What Erika is..." (Or occasionally, "Where Erika is..., etc.) So here is the first entry.

What Erika is... Listening to:

Okay, here's the story. Every Monday on the way home from youth group with my friends, we would listen to what I referred to only as 'The Chapstick Song.' As it turns out, "Chapstick, Chapped Lips, and Things Like Chemistry" is the first track on this album by Relient K, which, in case you didn't know, is a Christian rock group. So Bree made me a copy of the CD and I listened to it non-stop for the first week until I came to the conclusion that it was a very good CD, and 'The Chapstick Song' was not even near the best song on it. I highly recommend getting the entire album, but if you must only buy a couple of songs, pick "Getting Into You," "In Love With the '80's," and... Oh, never mind, I can't choose. They're all too good.

Book to Read (+Movie to Watch?)

I finally found time to read this book the day before we were going to study it in Sunday school. I'm glad I did! For one thing, this is a really good read. I understood many of the references to math and art, both of which I like a lot, and the only thing that would have made it better was if I spoke French. I find it amazing that this book had sparked so much controversy. You simply must read it as fiction, and there should be no problem at all. Be forewarned, however: much of what Dan Brown claims sounds so possible in the novel but is really not true at all. I recommend 'The Da Vinci Codebreakers,' or 'Decoding the Da Vinci Code,' or one of the many other books that have been written refuting Dan Brown's claims, if you feel your faith shake at all. They will put everything back in perspective. I am going to see the new movie this Friday, so I will let you know whether that is good as well. Toodles!
